and the color of the water
is very different from that
of the ocean, the latter having

3. PM.
We have been in sight of the
Irish coast all day. up to
the last hour Since which
time we have lost sight of
it, and now we get the
first sight of the English Welsh
coast for Holyhead is plainly
seen over the Starboard bow.
As we draw nearer the lighthouse
and residences are planly disce-

small white toys, compared
with large massive rocks
which are very rugged and
steep with numerous caverns
around the base washed out
by the waves which break against
the rocks with a furious roar.
It is just 4 PM as we pass
Holyhead and it iswe are now 60 miles
from Liverpool, the wind has increased
so that it is now blowing guite
a gale from the north, it is also
very cold so after getting a view
of the town which lies around
the northern side of the (Holyhead)
cliff. I go below to get warm.
.8 PM
All the passengers are
preparing to go ashore and we
are uncertain whether we will
land to night or not for at the
speed we are running we will
be in Liverpool by .10.PM
and it would be 2 hours later
before we could pass the Customs
house and get all ashore. The
reason of the uncertainty is
