This is the most beautiful
morning we have had
since we left New York
the Sun is rising and
the horizon is lit up, as
with streaks of gold, the
sky is rather cloudy and
as the sun rises higher
the rays of light shine from
behind the dark clouds
and light up the water
in the distance so that
it resenbles a sea of
gold. 10 AM
The sun has risen high
in the heavens the sky
has cleared, and the
wind has dropped, so it
is warm enough for all
to be on deck, it makes
all cheerful and happy
to be on deck such a beaut-
-iful day as this, the sea is
also very smooth and all
on board are taking advan-
-tage of the chance to be
on deck, and all, appreciate
the beautiful day,
I forgot to mention that
as we sail East we gain in
time, or, to illustrate my
idea, it is daylight
several hours earlier in
England than in before
it is in America, And
as we sail East we gain
a little everyday, And
as we all know the Sun
is Stationery, and at noon
every day the Captain takes
his bearings by the Sun
and he can tell what
Latitude he is in by the
