of good size but no fences, but
this is only in certain places
in some, it is thickly wooded
and others, well fenced
farms but all flat.

of Erie City. I felt more
interested than I might
have been because of hearing
Sam (my shop mate) speak
of it so much, but I must
say it is a pretty place and
of rather a good size, I saw
the lighthouse, the water works
tower, and the pier and bay
with Peninsular on the
opposite side of the bay, I
looked for the Coffin Works
but could not see it, there are
several fine buildings one of
them being a large brown
stone church with a spire.
After a stop of 10 minutes for
lunch we once more start on
our journey, The surrounding
country is about the same
as that through which we
have passed, all flat with
the lake and an occasional
village to break the monotony.
It is now getting quite dark
and the brakeman is calling
out Buffalo next stop and
all passangers change cars and
also giving them other
instructions in regard to
changing for their different
routes, some to Niagara fall
others to New York &c.
Buffalo is reached at last
and I board a New York
Central train, It is now
6 PM and it is quite dark
and so being unable to see
